Ditka on Nation Anthem: If Player Takes ‘He Doesn’t Play For Me Ever Again’
Here’s a nice breath of fresh air for the national anthem pridefuls.
Colin Kaepernick spat on the graves of our forefathers and the men and women that died to protect this nation by trying to make some sort of statement of ‘black oppression’ or what some of us would rather refer to as a ‘publicity stunt.’
Now Marshawn Lynch has thrown his hat in the ring for “Biggest America-Hating Athlete Asshole” when he decided he would just sit on a cooler of Gatorade while the rest of the stadium stood and sang the National Anthem prior to last weeks pre-season game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Americans are getting sick and tired of the NFL being a platform for spoiled rich players to protest things like law enforcement officers and alleged ‘white supremacy.’
Now, one PATRIOTIC coach is making a statement that has his players listening loud and clear: You take a knee, and you’ll never play for me again.
Because he’s old school like that, and we friggin’ love it.
Mike Ditka, the former coach of the Chicago Bears, two-time Super Bowl champion and two-time NFL Coach of the Year, said if one of his players took a knee during the National Anthem, they would never “play for me ever again.” He also said young players, such as San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, need to show respect for the game that has given them so much and stop “acting like a bunch of fools out there.”
“Iron” Mike Ditka made his remarks during a Feb. 2 interview on the Bernie & Sid show (77WABC Radio). Below is an excerpt of the exchange:
American football needs more leaders liek this one…what do you say?!
