The Republican Party has been divided since President Donald Trump’s inauguration, and he isn’t shy about letting any traitors know how he feels. Bill Kristol explains that he was never a Trump fan during the 2016 presidential election, but no one really cares what Kristol said now that Trump is our President. President Trump even called Kristol a loser during the campaign.
Kristol is at it again. Being the editor-at-large of the Weekly Standard, Kristol is working on creating a “Committee Not to Renominate the President.” It is reported that he explained to the New York Times, “we need to take one shot at liberating the Republican Party from Trump, and conservatism from Trumpism.” Is this guy freaking kidding? The American people spoke for themselves when the majority elected Trump to be President of the United States.
It has been reported that there are a lot of Republicans who would be thrilled to take President Trump’s place in 2020. One example of a disloyal Republican is Ohio Governor Kasich. He has been extremely comfortable in spewing his distaste for Trump, and actually has taken steps to put himself into a position to run for President in 2020. Other possible candidates have been keeping a low profile, but they are still looking for donors and groups for possible support.
President Trump has nothing to worry about, however. White House spokeswoman, Lindsay Walter warned the public, “the president is as strong as he’s ever been in Iowa, and every potentially ambitious Republican knows that.”
President Trump is only going to prove himself an even worthier leader than he already has. His fan base has gotten even stronger since the open hate towards him has gotten worse. I am very confident that we will still call Trump our President after the 2020 election.
